Careworn combines melodic female vocals with intricate and fervent guitars-mixing musical smarts and indie diversity with punk rock energy. Fleshed out from the remains of Edmonton, Alberta’s well-loved punkers Nothing At All, Careworn formed in 2004 and quickly recorded their hooky first album “How Cunning These Blue Skies” at Sundae Sound in Calgary, Alberta. Not being the type to sit around, Careworn packed up their meager belongings mere hours after their CD release party and trekked across the Rockies intent on conquering a new music scene. Now based in Vancouver, the band has added former TIM Drummer Smashin Sebastian to the band roster. Guitarists Jodee Sawan and Pat Sharman, and vocalist Monique Hoople complete the lineup. Careworn is currently seeking out a dedicated bassist who's willing to tour and lives in the Vancouver area. Currently the band has Mike From TIM filling in on bass duties because he's wicked like that. Armed with an insatiable work ethic, a set of DIY tools, and an intense live show, Careworn is convinced that the road to success is the one that leads directly out of town. From their mantra of “tour or die” to their capacity for driving through blizzards to perform they show a dedication bordering on insanity. “We live to tour.” laughs Monique “This band is gonna strike terror into the heart of our Chevy van”.
