Brandon Paris Band
BIOGRAPHY

Listen to The Brandon Paris Band’s On My Own, and you will hear many things: love, pain, loneliness, regret, and depression, yet among all of those things you will also hear the sound of a troubled man becoming his own person while succeeding at staying true to his heart. The Brandon Paris Band has a unique sound that is completely original. They are able to express true feelings that are deep and sincere, yet somehow get the people bopping their heads. It’s kind of like sending a message that…hey we all have problems some worse than others but don’t worry everything’s going to be alright! It really makes people feel good knowing that.
Growing up in a musically diverse family, Brandon crafted and cultivated his varied musical influences into his own imitable style. His parents, whom migrated from the Caribbean island of Trinidad & Tobago, would spin records from Bob Marley, Stevie Wonder, Louis Armstrong and BB King, while his older brothers would be blasting hard rock from legends like Jimmy Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughn, AC/DC and Kiss. Brandon’s musical journey has lead him in many directions, culminating in a style that infuses heavy guitar riffs with funky reggae and grooving bass lines, but with a delivery which remains strictly his own.
“I can honestly say that I don’t prefer one music genre over another as long as the lyrics speak from the soul, then I’m a fan.” - Brandon Paris
The Canadian born pop/rock artist lived in Winnipeg, Manitoba most of his teenage years before moving to British Columbia. This is where Brandon worked for his father’s video production company learning the many talents that would end up becoming the backbone of a unique skill set (website design, video production, visual effects) which perfectly complimented his innate songwriting skills, and would ultimately help him to launch his music career.
Along the way Brandon performed with many top musicians until he eventually has now surrounded himself with like minded artists who are as dedicated to his music as he is. Foremost are Dave Devindisch (Bass) ex of rock act DDT whose experiences touring with the biggest acts in the world grounds the band musically, and Da Griff (reggae vocalist) whose easy delivery adds a unique flavor to the mix and anchors Brandon to his family heritage. The band is rounded out by world class musicians Chris Murray (drums), Marc Gladstone (keys) and Greg Ellis (guitar) each adding their own flavor to the unique mix that musically defines Brandon Paris
Following his desire to have his songs compete on at a world class level Brandon chose to upgrade the already stellar production of his original recordings with Mark Ellis (Ninjabeatz) by employing Vancouver based hit record producer Troy Samson of Hipjoint Productions. Hipjoint Productions has collectively worked with Canadian Idol (BMG/Sony), Moka Only(Battleaxe/Nettwerk), Cory Lee (Rezolution/Koch), Kreesha Turner (Chris Smith Management), Pam Grier and Snoop Dogg (The L Word Series), and soulDecision (Universal/MCA) just to name a few. Samson built on what Brandon and Ellis had done, reworking six of the original recordings, and talking the whole project to a new level. Jeff Dawson, (Daniel Powter, Marcy Playground) who is also employed by the company, also helped produce 2 of the songs on the album as well as mixed all six reworked songs. After deciding they were ready to shop their album, The Brandon Paris Band got signed literally overnight only days after with many offers following. They signed a joint venture deal with Koch Canada and Nevada Entertainment.
Their first single “Rewind & Start Again has been released to radio March 13th 2006 and in 3 months hit top 20 with airplay all across the country including Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, Toronto, Northwest Territories all over the Maritimes and broke into Montréal including the $3000 low budget music video, which was produced & funded by Brandon Paris, and directed by Thaddeus Grant Fenton of Triton Films surprisingly being added to rotation on Much Music and highly requested by fans all over. The second and third single “Somebody To Hold” and “Give Me A Reason” was released afterwards and has been added to many of the same major radio, digital and satellite stations! Brandon Paris Band has been able to achieve a very hard goal of crossing top 40, hip hop and rock stations simultaneously because of their original pop/rock/reggae fusion sound a achievement on its own. The album released in stores October 3rd across Canada with a cross Canada tour in Nov 2006 and Jan/Feb 2007 all in support of the album release.
To date, Brandon Paris Band has had over 2 million hits on their website(www.brandonparis.com also designed by Brandon Paris) in 2006 and an astonishing Myspace (www.myspace.com/brandonparisband) Fan base topping over 35,000 and growing (they hit this number before they released there official album release). The Brandon Paris Band have been featured in countless newspapers, and radio interviews all across the country with awesome CD reviews. They have played many venues at in Western Canada such as BC place stadium and for the BC lions pre party for over 10,000 people. “Rewind & Start Again” was just nominated this spring 2007 for “BEST NEW BAND” by the Canadian Radio Music Awards. Lately the band has been recording their second album scheduled for release In sprint 2008.
“There is no denying the honesty of Brandon’s music, his lyrics tell a one of a kind story which makes his songs inherently likable” – Troy Samson, Hipjoint Productions
Because of his straight forward delivery and “hold nothing back” approach to lyrics Brandon Paris is a refreshingly honest and original voice in a world of musical empty calories. Tracks like Somebody to Hold, On My Own, Rewind & Start Again, and Dying Inside are songs that only he could have written because they tell the story, in intimate detail, of Brandon Paris – a story that soon the whole world will be familiar with.
