Belvedere Broadcasters
since circa 1994
Since 1994, the Belvedere Broadcasters have been playing authentic arrangements of popular songs and dance music of the 1920s to mid 1930s for audiences in their native Victoria, BC, Canada, and around the Pacific Northwest. Under the musical direction of Doug Rhodes, a great four-piece rhythm section backs up two trumpets, trombone, three Saxes. Along with two-tone shoes and three-part vocals, the band recreates the music and atmosphere that are as close as you can get to the excitement of the "Jazz Age".
Some performance credits include, The Butchart’s Gardens, The “Swing n Dixie Jazz Jamboree “ in Sun Valley, Idaho, The Victoria Hot Jazz Jubilee, Vancouver Classic Jazz Band Festival, The Mariner’s Jazz Club (Seattle, Washington), Jazz in the Olympics (Port Angles), Hermann’s Jazz Club (Victoria), The Union Club Of Victoria, along with numerous other engagements throughout Victoria, Vancouver Island, British Columbia, and the Pacific Northwest
