Book & Lyrics By Joe DiPietro, Music By Jimmy Roberts in association with Musical TheatreWorks
APRIL 3 – 19, 2008
“What are you doing Saturday night?”
Four actors play over 40 characters in off-Broadway’s longest-running musical celebrating the modern mating game and saluting those brave enough to ask this question. Join us on a roller-coaster ride of dating and waiting to love and marriage. Experience the agonies and triumphs of in-laws and newborns, trips in the family car, and pick-up techniques of the geriatric set. A hilarious revue paying tribute to those who have loved and lost, and those who have fallen on their face on the porch steps of romance.
Joe DiPietro is the author of numerous original musicals, musical adaptations, and plays including Over the River and Through the Woods (Gateway 2003) and the Edgar Award winning comic thriller The Art of Murder. Jimmy Roberts is a graduate of the Manhattan School of Music. His children’s musical, The Velveteen Rabbit has toured the U.S. for the better part of a decade. His most recent project is his second collaboration with Joe, The Thing About Men.
