Folk Festival -Talent Contest

This is a FOLK MUSIC CONTEST FESTIVAL of entertainment from the Acoustic Roots, Bluegrass, Old-Time, Folk & Celtic traditions. Twentyfour local entertainment groups will perform from 1:00pm through 10:00pm. Each act will perform 4 tunes [15 minutes] on stage. The audience will be the judge at this contest. The audience will cast their ballots with voting tokens to support the acts they want...

Voting tokens can be purchased for $1 each. Voters can vote for as many acts with as many tokens as they wish. All the paricipating enterainers will cash in their collected tokens but only the three highest token count winners will be announced at the end of the contest. When cashing in token counts the participants will give back 20% to the contest organizers...

This is a non-competative, old fashioned, fun, community event where both the audience and entertainers can support the Public Capital Campaign to save Oak Bay United Church [built 1914] from demolition. The event is FREE for everyone but particapating through your 'right to vote' is encouraged!
