AKA The Country Four
This popular Port Alberni band started out originally with four members: Andy Tereposky - Steel guitar / Aime Desbiens - Vocals and rhythm guitar / Norm Nass – Bass and vocals / Tony Strudwick – Drums. In January, 1966 they welcomed a fifth member, Wayne Price – Lead guitar and vocals, and became known as The Country Five. We were the house band at the Elk’s club from June, 1964 until July, 1966. At that point we did a 6 week tour of Western Canada. After the tour the band booked mostly local jobs consisting of weddings, banquets, and other such celebratory occasions. When we played our final gig on New Year’s Eve, welcoming in 1971 at the Alberni Athletic Hall to an appreciative 600 plate audience it was an emotional night for all. We started playing at 9:00 pm for a scheduled four hours but ended up playing until 4:00 in the morning as the audience swelled to an estimated 3,000 plus fans. The band members and our families have stayed lifelong friends.
We're here to help artists and arts organizations reach their audiences and each other.
