About

PACIFIC EDGE CHORUS

As of August 1, 2017, our new name is PACIFIC EDGE CHORUS! We're fun and competitive singers and are passionate about harmony! Performances showcase our exciting modern art form of four-part, a cappella close-harmony singing, ringing chords, stunning choreography and dazzling costumes. We sing special arrangements of today’s ballads and upbeat songs, show tunes, jazz, including special arrangements of popular songs such as Hey, Soul Sister; Skyfall; Fix You; Lazy Day and the theme song from Cheers.

In November 2014, as the City of Gardens Chorus, we were awarded gold medals by Sweet Adelines International judges in the Harmony Classic Division AA category for mid-sized choruses, which was limited to the top five choruses world-wide. The Chorus’ 48 female singers performed a colourful Mardi Gras entertainment package. Master Director Julie Smith and Assistant Director Diane Butler directed the Chorus. Here's a link to that exciting gold medal performance: http://tinyurl.com/k5yr4fz

The Chorus has been entertaining and competing since chartering with Sweet Adelines International in 1967. Members from all over Greater Victoria and as far as Parksville travel to Tuesday evening rehearsals at Gordon United Church hall, 935 Goldstream Avenue.

Invitations to strut our award-winning talents are always welcome. We sing at local events and festivals and have donated many performances to benefit charitable organizations. The Chorus has performed for a Governor General, three Lieutenant Governors, and at events honouring the Canadian Naval Centennial. In 2010 the Chorus toured England and Wales, earning third place at the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod. And now we're Sweet Adelines International 2014 Division AA Champions!
