Lesley is a practising artist and art instructor. She has a BA(Hons) 1st class in Embroidered Textiles, Middlesex University, London, UK and is a graduate of the Ecological Landscape Design program, Gaia College, Royal Roads University. She is a trained teacher with a BA in Geomorphology and has taught Fine Arts Textiles at the Victoria College of Art. She holds City and Guilds of London Institute certificates in embroidery and design, a University of Calgary Certificate in Visual Design and is a Master Knitter of Canada. She has exhibited across Canada, the UK, Germany and South Korea.
Lesley uses familiar domestic textiles and worn clothing to express her over-riding goal to deepen awareness of our intimate relationship with the natural world. Her creative practice is sustained by living in the Pacific Northwest temperate rainforest ecosystem.
