About

(Ivan Neville's) Dumpstaphunk

Recently dubbed “history’s greatest homeless band” in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, the award-winning Ivan Neville and Dumpstaphunk are on the road spreading the gospel of New Orleans soul and super-funk. The son of legendary Aaron Neville, Ivan joined the renowned Neville Brothers on keyboards while still in his teens. After absorbing all that musical gumbo, he moved to L.A. to broaden his horizons, eventually playing for Bonnie Raitt, the Rolling Stones and Robbie Robertson in-between nurturing his own solo career. Ivan returned to the Crescent City a few years back and formed Dumpstaphunk, a formidable music machine that takes the rhythms and textures of the classic New Orleans sound and struts off into an exciting new direction. Ivan has surrounded himself with the finest young musicians that his hometown has to offer: bassist/guitarist Tony Hall, bassist/vocalist Nick Daniels, drummer Raymond Weber and guitarist Ian Neville (son of Art Neville). These guys are amazing!
