Amber was born in Truro, Great Britain and graduated from Reading University in 2001. She has always had a love for art and studied sculpture at Cardinal Newman Sixth Form College. Art took a back seat while she completed her degree and post graduate training and it was another 10 years before her passion for art was reignited after attending a weekly evening class in life drawing. The class ran for 8 week blocks but she stayed with the group for two years!
Moving to Canada in 2010 provided Amber an opportunity for a change in career direction and she now works as an artist from her home on Vancouver Island. The island is an exceptionally creative place and Amber has continued her art education, taking classes and workshops with artists from the local community.
Amber is a member of Women without Borders, a group of artists, largely from the Sooke Region, who show together annually. Amber`s work featured in Boxed Sanctuary, a juried show at the Robert Batemen Centre in Victoria, BC. She has recently been selected by the City of Victoria to participate in a project that brings emerging artists and public art together. An image of her painting ‘The Call’ will be displayed at a downtown bus shelter for four months late in 2018. Amber also participates in group shows with several local arts organisations.
