David Praud moved to the US in the early 70's and began entertaining in the Reno/Tahoe/LasVegas circuit, reportedly with his own show. I hear he married a vegas showgirl and continues to live and work there. He was really a very talented entertainer. Unfortunately I lost touch with him after high school. At least one of his brothers, Donnie, lives in the Victoria area and may be able to fill in some of the blanks.
I went to school with Bob Cadwallader who gave the initla information. I knew Dave Praud from Esquimaly High, although he was a couple of years younger than me and I don't think I actually attended school with him. He lived close to me. I played a couple of high school performances with him - he was the front man, I played guitar. He was talented and, I think, a natural showman. I recall playing the tune "Little Arrows " (by Leapy Lee?) with him when some cables got tangled up - he handled it with great aplomb. I bumped into him at a bar in Reno, around 1976-8, where he was playing the show lounge. Seemed to be doing quite well. Was ging by the stage name Dave Proud. I recall that his father was Constance Praud, aka Connie. who had been a singer - guitar player in his day. As I recall as well, his father was very supportive of Dave's musical pursuits, e.g., bought a PA, provided rehearsal space, etc.. As I say, a talented guy.
