Aimée van Drimmelen is an artist, designer and musician based in Canada. Her circular paintings on synthetic drumheads have been exhibited in Montréal, Vancouver and San Francisco, and featured on numerous art and design blogs.
For over a decade Aimée has incorporated synthetic drumheads and vintage drums into her art practice as canvases for visual art, screens for projected animations, and instruments that “play” her musical compositions. In this latest series Aimée focuses in on the circular form and explores ideas of rhythm and interconnection through the use of geometric shapes, folk art motifs and visible mending.
