About

Crooked Wood

since 2005
Crooked Wood is the folk trio of Chris Murphy, Jon McLurg, and Steve Kennedy. Formed in 2005, they reunited in 2025 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the band.

Having released two albums together and played countless shows across Ontario, including the Mariposa Folk Festival and Gananoque’s Festival of the Islands, the band eventually morphed into Turpin’s Trail. Individually, Chris, Steve, and Jon have chalked up a whole lot of life experiences and success; back together again, come see how the songs, stories, and harmonies of Crooked Wood have aged like a fine wine.
