LINDEN SINGERS OF VICTORIA SET TO FLOURISH WITH NEW MUSIC DIRECTOR, EDETTE GAGNE
A visionary leader for this choral gem!

Edette Gagné has been named Music Director of Linden
Singers of Victoria, taking over the leadership of this
auditioned choir as long-standing director Brian Wismath
moves across the country. Hailing from Vancouver, Edette is
thrilled to become a part-time resident of beautiful Victoria,
and looks forward to creatively collaborating with the singers
and instrumentalists of Vancouver Island. Edette creates
communities where people feel safe, heard and inspired to be
their best.

As a music director, Edette champions new and undiscovered composers and works, and
celebrates these works with creative programming, staging and performances that captivate
artists and audiences alike. As a member of the 2SLGBTQ+ community, Edette views the arts
as an ideal medium for embracing diversity, equity and inclusion, and as a meaningful starting
point for delving into truth and reconciliation. Throughout her career creating international
touring shows, facilitating grand scale events on location, and transforming performing
ensembles to realize their potential, Edette brings a deep work ethic and a commitment to
creative collaboration.

Keeping all safety restrictions in mind, Edette has exciting plans for her inaugural season with
Linden Singers of Victoria, including collaborations with Indigenous composers and performers
and a tour of Vancouver Island to round out the season. NEW SINGERS are welcome to
