The Victoria Event Centre's Dandy Lion Sessions concert series is looking for performers!
Dandy Lion Sessions, which runs for free every Friday at the Victoria Event Centre from 4 p.m. - 5 p.m., includes two 20-minute sets with feature singer-songwriters, followed by an open mic. The event is all about shining a light on emerging talent on Vancouver Island.
Since starting in September, the space has lit up with over 15 feature artists. Part of the draw is thanks to a Creative BC Grant, which allows the VEC to pay featured artists an honorarium of $150 for a set.
The featured performers have come from a wide range of backgrounds, including UVIC Music graduates, experienced singer-songwriters who have recently moved to the island and Creative BC Career Development grant winners.
Dandy Lion Sessions also hosts established singer-songwriters to complement the performances of emerging artists in the series.
After the feature performers play, the floor opens up to an open mic giving performers more of a chance to network with other musicians/artists.
VEC’s Happy Hour specials are on at the time of the show and an extensive list of cocktails, mocktails, alcoholic beverages, tea and coffees are available.
We invite you to come down and join us at Dandy Lion Sessions, every Friday from 4 - 5 pm! Find out more information on our upcoming events at
