Collage Colour and Composition
Collage is considered one of the most important and influential art forms of the 20th century. This course will reveal how collage offers unexpected and strikingly appropriate means of interpreting and processing our image and information laden world. With simple tools such as scissors, glue and found materials, students will find excitement and spontaneity in class projects, while learning essential foundation principles of composition and colour. Slide presentations and discussions will focus on contemporary studio practice as reflected in artists like Ellen Gallagher, Wangechi Mutu, Matthew Bourel and Kara Walker. Suitable for beginners.
