"Never Alone" is a minimalist piano ballad, an homage to the Carpenters, and a goodbye to my mama ALA Adele, Brandi Carlile, Billie Eilish. I began writing songs with piano. Then for 20 years, I didn't have a piano or keyboard and wrote and performed exclusively with guitar. I am loving writing on piano again. It feels like a musical "homecoming". "Never Alone " is about a loved one not returning home. Mom's dad was in the army and mom passed suddenly last fall. There is a broken promise: I will always love you. You will never be alone. There is a sadness but a carrying-on, an inner fortitude and resilience. Remembrance Day release.
