When organist Mike Kenney, and guitarist John Stiver first heard the funky mix of New Orleans and reggae grooves on a Jackie Mitoo album, they knew something had to be done. A vibe as hip as this had to get out to the good people of Vancouver. They enlisted the tight-knit rhythm section of Geoff Hicks on drums, and Andy Milne on the bass to help recreate the fat sounds of Jamaica?s famous ?Studio 1?. Andy Codrington on trombone, and the fabulous vocals of Omolara round out the band. Throw in a dash of old school, jam-it-out attitude and you have a license to kill. Say hello to ?007?, the city?s newest, funkiest, and deadliest reggae band. They have just finished a successful six month run of Tuesdays at the Fairview Pub, and are available for live gigs, recording, and mucho skankin?.
