CineVic presents:

A COLD READING EVENT

Wednesday November 18th 2020 @ 7pm

Script & Actor Submission Deadline:
Saturday October 31st 2020 @ Midnight

Have you been hunkered down writing screenplays to get you through pandemic isolation? Are you ready to put your screen direction and dialogue to the test, and have it read by actors in front of a live audience? Then don’t miss the return of our Cold Reading series! An opportunity for writers to hear how your script flows and your characters sound, for actors to gain experience with on-the-spot no-rehearsal reading, and for viewers to join the fun by witnessing brand new work from local artists.

Submit your screenplay or a portion, MAXIMUM 5 contiguous pages. This could be a complete short film, or a 5-page section from a longer piece. Submissions are FREE and open to writers from Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands. Selected writers will receive free admission to the event, and a portion of proceeds from audience donations.

The Fine Print:
• Writer’s name must be removed to allow for blind judging.
• Maximum 5 contiguous pages, PDF documents only.
• Submissions must also include short film synopsis and character breakdowns.
• Up to 6 scripts will be chosen for live reading at the event.

🎭 ACTORS 👩🏽‍🦱

Submit your headshot and acting resume for consideration to be one of our cold readers at the event. Submissions are FREE and open to actors from Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands. Selected actors will receive free admission to the event, and a portion of proceeds from audience donations.
