The Victoria Django Festival is back and it's bigger and better than ever! For two nights in February be transported to the dance halls, opera houses and underground venues of the Roaring Twenties and Dirty Thirties and revel in the musical splendor of the Paris tradition! The festival kicks into high gear Saturday night with the main event concert and dance featuring Seattle's Pearl Django, renowned Montreal "Djangologist" Dennis Chang, Daniel Lapp, The Capital City Syncopaters and Chris Sartisohn. St. Andrews Church(924 Douglas st) becomes our 500+ seat Opera House and follow the back corridor down to The Kirk Hall and be transported into the hot club cabaret of Paris where our local gourmet sponsors Hoyne Brewery, The Whole Beast, The Hot and Cold Cafe and Famoso Pizzeria will help keep the party rolling. As with Friday night, both stages will run simultaneously all night giving festival goers a chance to flow between the Opera house and the Cabaret . The Swing Dance Association of Victoria kicks off each night with a free dance workshop and judges our dance competition awarding some kick ass prizes so grab your dancing shoes get there early to pick up some fancy footwork.
