The story of Towers and Trees is one that is worth telling, even as it unfolds in real-time. What began less than one year ago as an exercise in redemption for singer-songwriter Adrian Chalifour - capping two years of physical relocation and creative drought - has since blossomed from a near-solo recording project to a 3-8 piece musical collective encompassing some of Victoria's most talented young musicians, including Ben and Andrea Lubberts (An&Ben), Dave Zellinsky (Vince Vacarro, Lola Parks), Kiana Brasset (Tremble Aspen, Mike Edel), Olivier Clements (Aidan Knight), Donovan Rush, Jesse Boland and Ashton Nesbeth.
Towers and Trees released their debut Broken Record EP in September 2012, wowing the sold-out crowd at Victoria’s iconic Canoe Brewpub with their raw energy, intricate harmonies and distinctly earnest song-writing. Broken Record is a collection of six songs that weave a narrative of love, redemption and the search for home. Lyrically, the album is permeated with a palpable sense of geography and landscape; a slice of Canadiana as seen through the distinct lens of the Pacific Northwest.
