On Friday, July 26 at 8 p.m., Springer Market Square is the place to be as the City of Kingston once again presents Rockin’ the Square featuring Crash Test Dummies with special guest, Kingston’s own, Piner. web link

Rockin’ the Square is the City’s annual signature large-scale, free outdoor music concert that presents renowned national artists along with featured local support performances for the Kingston community.

It's been 30 years since Canadian folk/rock band, Crash Test Dummies, recorded their debut album, ''The Ghosts That Haunt Me" garnering the band the Juno Award for Group of the Year. The show will include hits and fan favourites from the band’s vast catalogue including Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm, Superman’s Song, Afternoons and Coffee Spoons and The Ballad of Peter Pumpkinhead to name a few. Original members Brad Roberts, Ellen Reid, Dan Roberts and Mitch Dorge will be joined onstage by Stuart Cameron and Marc Arnould.

Piner is a singer-songwriter based in Katarokwi (Kingston, ON, Canada). Piner grew up in the environs of Skeleton Park, a community rife with musicians who put their thoughts into song and sang them to anyone who cared to listen. She released her debut album, The Breaking Point, in July 2018 to critical acclaim. Michael Broadhead, Sam Nicks, Liam Cole and Dylan Lodge will be lending their incredible musical talents as her backing band for the show.

The City is providing free public transit in support of this year’s Rockin’ the Square. Buses will be free from 6 to 11 p.m. on Friday, July 26.
