In a statement on the homepage of The Glorious Sons' website (web link) dated August 29, 2024 (but presumed to mean 2023), lead singer Brett Emmons has announced a surprising split from founding guitarist, Chris Koster.

The message, which was also posted to the band's Instagram account, explained that the band would continue on without Chris Koster. Presumably, this means there will be no impact to their planned hometown performance on New Year's Eve at Leon's Centre in Kingston (web link).

The news follows the release of a solo album by Chris Koster (as simply "Koster"), and a live solo performance with his band on July 29, 2023 at The Broom Factory in Kingston (web link).

At the time of publication, Kingston Live had not spoken to any members of the band nor its representatives.

A screenshot of the message that appeared on the band's website is attached to this article. The message in its entirety was posted as follows:

This is gonna come as a bit of tough news for you all — but the band and Chris Koster are parting ways.
We wish Chris nothing but the best on his musical journey. He is one of the most talented people I’ve ever met.
As for us we’re going to continue to go out there and do what we do. I speak for everyone else in our camp when I say that we didn’t get in this business not to do it forever.

We will see you on tour.

Thanks,
Brett
