Event Description

Tenor saxophonist Iain Duncan and visiting Vancouver organist Nick
Peck host this evening of groovy funk, greasy blues, and deep
soul-jazz. Bringing back the sound of the 60's B3 organ combo, they'll
be playing the music of Jimmy Smith, Jack McDuff, Wes Montgomery, and
more.

Since moving to Victoria in 2014, Iain Duncan has performed at many of
Victoria's top jazz venues: The Victoria Jazz Fest, Hermann's, The
Bengal Lounge, and of course, the Northern Quarter! His recent shows
with Bossa West at the Quarter have been crowd favourites. Arriving
from England a couple of years ago, Nick Peck has been tearing up
Vancouver stages some of the cities very best jazz artists: Mike
Allen, Steve Kaldestad, Cory Weeds, and many more. Nick and Iain are
joined by Rob Cheramy on guitar and Jon Miller on drums, both well
known in Victoria's jazz circles as fantastic musicians and no
strangers to the Northern Quarter. This is their debut performance as
a quartet, and we've been reliably told the band grooves like a
freight train. Don't miss it!
