VALLEY OF WOLVES
Valley of Wolves is the work of Canadian vocalist and songwriter Pascale Goodrich-Black and a rotating cast of musicians as her band. With a father from the cattle ranches of Alberta and a mother from rural Québec, Pascale’s music is rooted in the Canadian landscape. At times moody and sexy and bursting with raw emotion, Valley of Wolves combines traditional country with dark, lush rock sounds.

The music evokes desolate back-roads and wide open skies, gritty triumphs over life’s heartaches and the smouldering embrace of love lost and found again.

Produced in collaboration with Adam Popowitz (guitars & production; Pacifika, T. Nile) and featuring seasoned indie artist Lyndell Montgomery (bass & fiddle; Chris Pureka, Ember Swift), the self-titled Valley of Wolves debut album includes work by veteran drummer and percussionist Elliot Polsky (Leela Gilday, Jim Byrnes) , Christina Zaenker (cello) and Tim Tweedale (pedal steel & weissenborn; Headwater).

Having toured extensively in both Canada and United States, Pascale is looking forward to taking Valley of Wolves on the road in the late summer and fall of 2010. With the support of the Conseil Culturel et Artistique Francophone de la Colombie Britannique, Valley of Wolves will taking part in the Pacifique en chanson Gala before the official Valley of Wolves release at the Festival d’été francophone de Vancouver in June 2010. Pascale currently lives tucked away in the Canadian West near a range of mountains that reminds her of sleeping wolves.
