Opening Night: Friday, March 9th from 7-10pm
Exhibition Dates: March 9th to March 25th

**Please note: the fifty fifty arts collective is a volunteer run organization, this means that exhibition hours can fluctuate unpredictably and on short notice due to volunteer availability; if you are coming to visit in a specific time frame, please feel free to make an appointment by emailing Don at [email protected]**


Groupie presents works by Laura Gildner that consider the nature of obsession in relation to the idolized image. Approaching compulsiveness as a mode of inquiry and nostalgia as a means to connect to desire, the works in this exhibition each confront both the absurdity and affection that can coexist within the pursuit of the intangible. Through video and large scale photographic installation, Groupie muses on the performance of feminine subjectivity with exercises in power, seduction, tenderness, and togetherness.

the fifty fifty arts collective is comprised of individuals living and working on unceded and occupied First Nations Territories, specifically the lands of the Songhees and Esquimalt Nations, as well as the W̱SÁNEĆ, Sc'ianew and T'Souke First Nations.

The programming space itself is situated on Songhees and Esquimalt Territory but engages with individuals and communities across Turtle Island.

As a collective we endeavor to deepen our own understandings of how we are implicated in the history and in the present ongoing project of settler colonialism. As members of the fifty fifty arts collective we continually responsibilize ourselves to the complex kind of space that is the fifty fifty which hosts and facilitates the dissemination of the ideas and work of others.
