Foundation is a collection of paintings and drawings by Victoria based artist Bronwyn McMillin. Drawn from personal experience, Foundation focuses on the imagery of construction and the physicality of structures. Featuring several large scale oil paintings and graphite drawings, Bronwyn uses images of houses, rooms, and working structures as a framework for investigating more poetic ideas of home and belonging. She is fascinated by the duality of inside / outside created by the unfinished home, as well as by the in-between space created by structures in transition.
Bronwyn McMillin is a Graduate of the University of Victoria's Visual Arts Programme. Born and raised on Vancouver Island, Bronwyn spent much of her childhood around construction and building sites. A recent recipient of the RCA/ C.D. Howe Scholarship for Art and Design, Bronwyn is currently pursuing an independent practice.
Foundation will have its opening reception September 5th at The Fifty Fifty Arts Collective starting at 7pm. The show runs until September 22nd.
