A Festival for Artists, by Artists
** Aug 24th, John Phillips Memorial Park, Sooke **

A not for profit community event aiming to celebrate all forms of art on Vancouver Island and bring a variety of Artists together with different backgrounds, talent and experience … while focusing on giving emerging Artists the chance to perform and present alongside Musicians and Artists with years of experience.

The Vancouver Island ArtistFest is a multi media/artists festival, featuring live bands and djs, dancers, a full vendor market of artists from all over Vancouver Island, walking art/body painting, food and beverage vendors, live painting demos, art gallery , kids zone and much much more!!

For 2013 we are teaming up with Social Coast to launch a Food Security Campaign and Fundraiser for the Sooke Food Bank, as they're currently in a very tight spot, and looking at having to close their doors. This would be a huge blow to the community of Sooke, as the Food Bank is currently filling aprox. 450 households per month.

A bit about Social Coast:
Social Coast's primary goal is to contribute to the growth and health of this community by inspiring homegrown people (and those newly established) to engage in activities that contribute to the overall welfare of the communities we live in. They believe that responsible and thoughtful engagement in our actions is the best way to cause positive, long lasting change in the place we inhabit everyday.
They work to reveal systemic oppression and inequalities through the fight for environmental, social, and economic justice.
