Job Posting – Indigenous Learning Exchange Program

Posted by: Belfry Theatre
The Belfry Theatre is excited to launch a new program, the Indigenous Learning Exchange Program.

The Exchange Program is a reciprocal learning opportunity providing successful candidates a period of employment and skills development in an established theatre company, while helping the Belfry build a more understanding and welcoming relationship with Indigenous artists, arts organizations, communities, and opening our eyes to other ways of approaching the creation of theatre.

We are seeking applications from Indigenous theatre directors, performing arts administrators, stage management, production personnel, and designers, to apply for a position with the Belfry. Indigenous arts workers seeking to build existing or develop new skills are invited to apply. Length of employment with the Belfry is customizable to the needs and schedules of the successful applicants.

Job description(s) will be developed with the successful candidate to meet the needs of the candidate and the Belfry.

The primary qualification is a desire to be employed and engaged within the national theatre or performing arts community. Other qualifications are individual skills which the candidate believes will support the position being applied for.

Salary or fee for the position is negotiable and contingent on the candidate’s area of work, their experience, and hours per week they are available to the Belfry. Candidates should expect a minimum salary equivalent to $575.00/week with a top salary expectation of the equivalent of $800.00/week.

Interested applicants should forward a brief resume accompanied by a letter indicating the skills they hope to develop and skills they can share through the program to the attention of Michael Shamata, Artistic Director and Ivan Habel, Executive Director.

The application process is on-going and selected applicants will be contacted advising them of existing or future opportunities to participate.
