Bria Skonberg

Vancouver’s Bria Skonberg is best known for leading two of her own
ensembles (Bria’s Hot Five and the Big Bang Jazz Band), as well
as being a featured soloist with the legendary Dal Richards and
his Orchestra. A double threat on trumpet and vocals, the 26-yearold
Skonberg is already a widely travelled, award-winningperformer, having played everywhere from Holland toJapan. Her debut CD, Fresh, came out last year, and Skonberg isforging an interesting amalgam of New Orleans jazz-blues with
