Assertion is a unique music trio from Vancouver, British Columbia, who play rock, folk and improvised music with equal sincerity. They started in 1996 as a duo with Chad MacQuarrie on guitar and Scott Rabo on drums. Both musicians have been involved with different music projects from all over Canada, including:

As a duo, Assertion released it's first CD "A Great Refusal", in 1998. In 2000 Assertion became a trio with the addition of bassist Brian McCallum.

"Powerless" is their new independantly released CD.
