The three Eagle feathers represent the people of Canada and the strength found in its people. The four spirit animals represent the four directions of our nation and the diversity of our culture. The White Buffalo symbolizes the passing on of lessons learned. When we are elders, it is our responsibility to pass on all our knowledge that we have gained. The Golden Eagle represents our strength, courage, and wisdom. The Coyote is symbolic of the magic in life and creation. The Grizzly Bear has several meanings, primarily, strength, confidence, and the ability to taking action and displaying leadership. The following words, spoken by the Honourable Maurice Bourget, Speaker of the Senate, added further symbolic meaning to our flag: 'The flag is the symbol of the nation's unity, for it, beyond any doubt, represents all the citizens of Canada without distinction of race, language, belief or opinion.' God Bless Canada and All Our Relations.
