Call to Artists

Call to Artists

The Fernwood Community Association’s Little Fernwood Gallery Committee seeks proposals for month-long exhibitions to be held at 1923 Fernwood Road from January to December 2023.

Little Fernwood Gallery is a not-for-profit neighbourhood exhibition space dedicated to emerging, local, and diverse visual artists.

This Call is open to all local artists/groups/collectives with the selection process prioritizing artists who live and/or work in Fernwood, who experience systemic barriers to inclusion in the visual arts, who employ diverse approaches to their art. We are seeking a wide range of art-making, and an array of material explorations that reflect our unique community. Emerging artists are encouraged to apply.

The Little Fernwood Gallery follows accepted protocols on copyright infringement and non-appropriation of Indigenous cultures — work that infringes on these guidelines will not be accepted. The Little Fernwood Gallery is a publicly supported gallery and we reserve the right to show work suitable to our neighbourhood.
