Call for Submissions - Queer Art Exhibit

For the Love of Us All is a Queer art exhibit that explores community, love, pride and diversity.

The exhibit is overseen by a team of four community curators.

A central theme of the exhibit is exploring intersectionality within the Queer community. Intersectionality is a concept that recognizes that social factors such as ethnicity, socio-economic status, class, gender, sexual orientation, age and ability overlap and create amplified experiences of marginalization.

Within the exhibit, the curatorial team will create space, place and belonging for those with interconnected identities.

Presented by the Victoria Pride Society and the Esquimalt Community Arts Hub, the exhibit will run from July 14 - 30, 2021 at the arts hub.

Call for Artwork

The curatorial team invites submissions from emerging and established Queer artists living and working in the WSÁNEĆ, Lək̓ʷəŋən and neighbouring Territories throughout Vancouver Island.

No prior gallery or exhibit experience is required to participate in this show and we welcome submissions by those who may or may not identify as an “artist.”

We invite works that connect with themes of:

Intersectional experiences with in the Queer community and/or as a Queer artist;

Marginalization experienced from within the Queer community;

Explorations of love, community and acceptance through intersectional identities;

Interpretations of the future of the LGBTQIA2S+ community, pride and activism.
