Workshops to be held on August 16th and 22nd, 2017 at 3:30 pm.

EVENT DETAILS: Family Art Studio is a family-friendly art-making series with an aim to bring families together through creative and collaborative art-making. This two-part workshop series is designed for M’akola tenants, who are primarily Aboriginal people and families.

Each workshop will accommodate 35-40 tenants. The art project must be designed as a collaborative activity for families. All material costs will be covered by the WSAC and MHS. These events will be held in a sheltered outdoor area in August 2017. The outdoor conditions must be considered when submitting a proposal for the art-making project.

SUBMISSION PROPOSAL: Artists are invited to submit an email indicating interest to instruct one, or a series of two, art-making workshops.

Email of Interest must include:

1) Information Sheet: Artist name, email address, mailing address, phone number.

2) Project Suggestion(s): Provide one or two concepts for the collaborative art-making project (including materials list), and outline how the workshop will unfold. Include considerations for the outdoor setting.

3) Artist Details: A brief biographical statement and CV (highlighting recent studio practice and teaching experience).

The selected artist(s) will be granted an honorarium for their instruction.

PUBLICITY: Photographs will be taken at the workshops. These images may be featured on the West Shore Arts Council website and on social media. There may also be a feature in the Goldstream News Gazette and in the West Shore Arts Council newsletter. Credit will be given to the artist-instructor.

Please submit your interest to instruct via email to [email protected]. Prior to submission, please direct any questions to the WSAC.
