Light Up the Hills - Call for Artist-Instructors

Light Up the Hills - Call for Artist-Instructors

The West Shore Arts Council (WSAC) is seeking proposals from an artist-instructor to lead an intermediate to advanced lantern-making workshop, in the lead up to the second Light Up the Hills festival. The workshop will take place on September 20, 2017 from 4-7 pm at Coast Collective Art Centre.

FESTIVAL DETAILS: Light Up the Hills is a family-friendly outdoor festival of light presented by the West Shore Arts Council and Westhills, to be held on September 23, 2017. Leading up to the event, locals are encouraged to create their own lanterns to be carried through the Westhills area in Langford. Three lantern-making workshops will be offered, including one intermediate to advanced level which will provide instruction to a group of up to 20 participants. On the evening of the event, participants will walk along a designated path, passing by various performances and artworks, and using the hand-made lanterns to guide their way. This community-focused event aims to showcase the creativity of local artists, musicians, and performers.

SUBMISSION DEADLINE: Friday June 30, 2017 at 5:00 pm.
