Olivia M. Lake

Olivia Lake is talented, creative and has been gifted with the ability to design and produce anything of a crafty nature. Mostly self-taught, she attributes many of her artistic skills, resourcefulness and attention to detail to the training and exposure to influential people in her life, such as Robert Bateman, Susan Underwood, Holly Carr, Suzanne Prendergast and her art teacher from high school, but mostly to her mom, Alexandra Lake, goldsmith/artisan and horse trainer, her father, Robert Barnard, carpenter and residential designer/drafter, and her grandmother, Elizabeth Rago, English school owner. Olivia Lake was born on Salt Spring Island in 1975. She has lived in B.C mostly, but has also lived in Alberta, and Olympia, WA. She has volunteer experience teaching in Queretaro, Mexico and Victoria, B.C.; and is also an author, designer, illustrator, poet, photographer, and publisher of two haiku chapbooks, one coloring book and two GF cookbooks. She graduated from high school with honors in art and won the Rocky View School Division Art Award for a paper mache mask. She has trained at South Puget Sound Community College, ICS, the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition and others. Olivia Lake has displayed her works online, in local galleries and venues, in Alberta and she is a contributing artist to the Brooklyn Art Library in N.Y.
