ABOUT ME
Ray
I was born in the fifties, raised on a farm in Salmon Arm. Eventually I moved to one of the most beautiful areas of BC, the Rocky Mountain Ranges. I cherish the memories of my childhood, surrounded by bears, moose and other wildlife; observing the creatures was my favorite pastime. For the last 26 years I have lived on the cost of British Columbia. Artwork became my passion when I began school. I would draw and paint, in addition to sculpting in clay and carving wood. In my teenage years I began carving using metal and then in my late twenties I started sculpting using marble, granite, jade and porphyry. My works of art are in Ireland, Switzerland, Argentina, Paraguay, United State and different areas in Canada. After raising my family, I spent 3 meaningful years in South America helping in volunteer work. I came back to Canada with a renewed spirit! I have been in Victoria for nine years. Now in my 60's I still enjoy sculpting in my studio when I have free time. My most recent exhibition was held at the front of the Fairmont Empress Hotel and Window display case main floor, at the Saanich Municipal Hall.
