Formed circa '99, KEMIZTRY is an offshoot of the Barrie experi-metal band The 13th Disciple. Taking members Ghosty Boy(slap bass & vocals) )and Jud Mackay(drums), and throwing guitarist Sean Herbert-Walker (guitars) into the fray, what began as just jamming soon turned serious as the band realized the synergetic chemistry that existed between them and started churning out songs like a hot knife (through butter?)
The first album saw the boys getting their feet wet in the cesspool of experimental funk-driven metal under the name BAND X; while their sophomore effort, "From Genesis to Genocide" (under the more fitting nomenclature KEMIZTRY), virtually drowned them in litres of the sludge and still, they didn't even bat an eyelash.
Over the course of the past 6 years, Kemiztry has performed frequently at such reputable clubs as the Foundation, the Big Bop and Jeff Healey's, not to mention Canada's largest marijuana support rally "Freedom Fest", alongside such acts as Ditch, Edison Machine, Pornofuk, Estradasphere, Dog Fashion Disco, Three Days Grace and underground NYC hardcore legends Prong, along with countless others (sorry to anyone we forgot but this sorta lifestyle tends to drain the ol' memory banks), leaving a torrent of madness and mayhem in their wake. After taking a brief hiatus to relocate across the country and set up camp in Victoria BC, Kemiztry is ready once again to splatter their peculiar brand of funk-fueled carnage all over a stage near you.
