Have you ever wanted to learn how to sew your own dresses?
During this 4 part workshop you will learn how to read commercial patterns, trace off patterns & pattern markings, make minor changes, construct regular and French seams, insert zippers, make buttonholes and hem. We will show you finishing methods with or without a serger [your choice!]
The group size will be just 5 people so you get plenty of one to one help. We have a choice of dress patterns available to use or you are welcome to bring your own pattern if you prefer. We can help guide you to an appropriate project depending on your experience and body type. You may have homework depending on the complexity of your project in order to finish up inside the 10 hours, we will gauge this week by week.
You will need to purchase fabric before the first session, but other notions and fastenings will be discussed in the workshop. We recommend working cottons or wools for your project as they are nice to work with and easier to handle than others. Please stop by the shop or contact Jenny to discuss your requirements.
We serve tea and you are most welcome to bring in a snack to help keep you going!
